Last year, the President of the Republic, Petr Pavel, made his first appearance in the Pardubice region, when he visited Budislav and participated in the opening of Smetana Litomyšl. However, the region is still waiting for an official visit. However, it is rumored that the trip is already planned.

“Yes, Mr. President is going to visit the Pardubice region. It is the last region that he has not yet visited as part of his regional travels. We will publish the date of the visit and the program in the following weeks,” confirmed Eva Hromádková, press spokesperson of the Office of the President of the Republic.

According to Hetman Martin Netolicky, the president is scheduled to arrive in the region in the second half of May. It is not yet clear which places in the region the president will specifically visit. However, there are rumors that he is supposed to go to the Králicka area as well.

This year, as last year, President Petr Pavel took over the patronage of the Smetanova Litomyšl national festival. Its 66th year will start on Saturday, June 8, when Bedřich Smetana’s birth apartment, whose birth has passed 200 years this year, will also be ceremonially opened after reconstruction. The president and his wife should also attend the opening.
