He pretended that he was just passing through the center of Prague, but the city police officers knew very well that the man with the raptor on his hand was collecting money for photos with the bird. He did not have a license to breed or to perform in public, moreover, this activity is prohibited in the place where he earned his money. The patrol therefore took away the predator from the man.

A man with a large raroh tied to his hand was spotted on camera on Sunday, May 28. He stood on Křižovnické náměstí, let the animal pose with tourists and collected money for photos.

“The protected bird had its wings clipped and a nylon cord tied to its leg without leather loops. The 33-year-old man did not present a breeding permit or a public appearance permit.” said a spokesperson for the Prague police on Facebook Irena Seifertová. The man said he was just passing by, but he was caught on camera.

He also earned money in a heritage zone, where similar activities are prohibited. In addition, the officers suspected that the man was torturing the predator and captured it from the wild.

“For these reasons, the officers removed the animal and transported it to a specialized facility. A suspected crime has been reported to the state police,” Seifert added.
