--

A unique parking lot for hundreds of American army armored vehicles and support vehicles, ready to go into action at any time, was created in the non-specific city of the military area of Libav. It is combat equipment for 800 soldiers from the 150th Cavalry Regiment of the National Guard from West Virginia.

Get in and go.

Yes, it is part of a long-standing international exercise, which is intended to test the rapidly deployed allies in the event of a threat and to test our ability to provide them with the necessary support, General Tba spokeswoman Magdalena Dvokov confirmed for natoaktual.cz.

In the past few days, the American ground commanders in Europe and Africa had the equipment transported here, largely unnoticed, by means of commercial carriers from special forward warehouses of weapons and equipment in Mannheim, Germany.

The Pentagon decided to advance warehouses to European allies in response to Russia’s annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea in 2014. So that in the event that any of the Alliance’s countries are threatened, American soldiers can easily transport prized dog and combat equipment ready for use.

And the first test of this mechanism is the main goal of the exercise, its essence is also the extensive preparation of the technique on Libav. In mid-May, 800 American Guardsmen from West Virginia will fly to Esk. At Libav, they literally just get into the peppercorns of technical battles.

There are about 400 items on site, including five M2 Bradley fighting vehicles, M113 armored personnel carriers, light and medium tactical vehicles and various types of support vehicles, including five tank trucks, launch vehicles, etc. Europe and in Africa, Thomas Kilian, who is to be established in Libav by supervision.

Amerian designates such a field center, as it has now been created in Czech Republic, as ECHA (Equipment Configuration and Hand-off Area), i.e. a place for technical control and pre-equipped. Over the next few days, the assembled equipment will be inspected and taken over piece by piece by the soldiers of the 150th Cavalry Regiment to ensure that the deployed units will have everything they need.

As soon as the receiving tactical unit verifies that all the equipment on the documents are correct and the evening equipment is 100% functional, then we will equip them, added Kilian.

Amerian will train on Libav

The unit of the American Guardsmen has fought in Ireland, Afghanistan, but also in Syria or Jordan, for example. Guardsmen at Libav ek together with Czech troops are practicing Immediate Response.

This is part of the largest maneuver of the American army in Europe in the last decade under the name DEFENDER 24, which will involve 17,000 American and 23,000 allied troops from 20 allied and partner countries.

For the Czech side, 350 soldiers of the 7th Mechanized Brigade will be involved. Clem of the Czech and American troops will practice the skills of combat distance, the ability to integrate, the conduct of combat activities and interoperability. For our soldiers, it will be a certificate of training for deployment in a foreign mission in Slovakia, stated Dvokov.

NATO deployed a multinational battle group in Slovakia in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Since 2002, the combined troops of R, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, the Netherlands and the USA were commanded by ei. Since the Red Army, I have been assigned to my English colleagues, but they will not be used in battle groups for long. They are soldiers of the 72nd mechanized battalion from Pslavice.

We will have a mechanized company here with security elements, soldiers from Pslavice will be part of the contingent, who will be collecting cash in R, said battalion commander Michal Voltr.
