Two accidents at the same place, but in opposite directions, occupied the rescuers and the police on the highway slip road near Globus in Olomouc. A passenger from one of the crashed cars ended up in the hospital.

Both accidents happened on Sunday before 10 am on the D35 near Křelov. The wreckers closed the four-lane road in both directions for more than an hour.
In the direction of Mohelnica, the 44-year-old golf driver first crashed into a Hyundai with a 39-year-old woman driving in front of her. According to the police, she did not keep enough distance between the cars
Shortly after that, in the same place, but in the opposite direction to Olomouc, a young driver in a Passat collided with a Golf in front of her. A fellow passenger was injured in it, paramedics took her to the university hospital.
“The 26-year-old Passat driver driving in the left lane did not adjust her speed to the technical condition of the road, the characteristics of the vehicle and her abilities, and crashed into the VW Golf in front of her from behind,” police spokeswoman Ivana Skoupilová explained.
According to her, the 54-year-old driver of the Golf was still trying to react to the fast-approaching Passat by swerving from the left lane to the right and back.
“As a result, the young female driver rear-ended the Golf, which crashed into the center guardrails. The Passat crashed into both the center guardrails and the guardrails at the right edge of the road,” described the police spokeswoman.

According to her, the first accident was resolved on the spot. The police are still investigating the second crash.
“During it, a 53-year-old passenger from a VW Golf vehicle was injured, with which she was transported to the Olomouc University Hospital. In addition, there was material damage to the guardrails and to both vehicles in the preliminary amount of 140,000 crowns. The presence of alcohol in the drivers was ruled out by a breath test.
