Opponents of Russian aggression in Ukraine prepared a welcome in the form of banners, flags and shouts for the Night Wolves MC bikers. Activists from the Kaputin group stood at the entrance to the Olšan Cemetery, where the Night Wolves came to honor the soldiers who died during the Second World War.
The bikers, among whom was SPD MP Jaroslav Foldyna, arrived at U Nákladového nádraží street at one in the afternoon. Protesters were already on the scene, as well as police officers who were supervising the entire event.
Activists from the Kaputin group had the same banner as yesterday in Brno, it read We welcome the delegates of the Russian terrorist federation. In addition, they brought the flags of Ukraine, the European Union and the USA. MP Martin Exner (STAN) also participated in the protest on behalf of the group.
“They support Vladimir Putin and aggression in Ukraine. They also supported the occupation of Donbas and Donetsk by Russian troops. I think that it is necessary not to abuse the war in order to present today’s Russia,” he said Exner Prague Gossip and Blesk.
Upon arrival, the Night Wolves were greeted by dozens of supporters who had Czech and Russian flags and many of them St. George’s ribbons.
The police separated the protesters from the bikers, there were only verbal fights when the Night Wolves entered the cemetery. There they laid flowers at several memorials. At the graves of the Red Army soldiers, they played the Czech and Slovak national anthems from the chapel. Speeches were given by representatives of the Czech and Slovak groups, as well as a member from Germany, Jaroslav Foldyna.
Kaputin activists were once again ready at the exit, shouting slogans such as “Putin is a murderer” or “All of Prague sings with us, to hell with the fascists”.
