Hunters found a torn doe still alive in the forest on the edge of the quarry near Litic. Due to the remote location where the freshly caught piece was found, a wolf attack is more likely.

A worker at the quarry alerted the hunters to the discovery of the downed doe. “On the edge of the area, we actually found a doe bitten on the throat with injuries to the abdominal cavity. We had to shoot the animal. It was in a remote place in the hunting area, where there are thick bushes, there are no roads. It is far from human habitation, I assume that a wolf would not come closer to inhabited places,” describes the chairman of the Hunting Association of Litice, Vladimír Jurčo, adding that he has not yet recorded the appearance of a wolf in the local hunt. “It is not yet clear whether it was an individual or whether there are more wolves moving around here. Of course, we will continue to monitor everything using camera traps,” says Vladimír Jurčo.
The mayor of Litic, Michal Hausner, urges great caution: “People should not let dogs run freely in the entire territory of the Litic forest during walks and should only move along roads.” the animal moves away by itself. “It is a shy animal, I assume that contact should not occur,” adds Vladimír Jurčo.

The place where the downed doe was found is only a few hundred meters from the Šlovické hill near Dobřany, where the presence of the wolf was confirmed photo trap image. Based on it, the Hunting Association of Dobřany issued a warning about a possible encounter with a wolf. The photo trap documented the occurrence of this animal also in the Vysoká forest.
