The demolition of the so-called Glass Hell has begun

--

After the preparatory work, the demolition of the infamous unapproved Carimex building on Rokycanská třída began. The surrounding buildings will also go to the ground. Commercial and administrative buildings will be built here instead of the Glass Hell. Subsequently, apartments will also be built here. The demolition is being carried out by the development company InterCora, which is the main investor in the area revitalization project. The condition of the sale of urban land was the demolition of buildings. It should be completed by September 25.

“I am very happy that the demolition of Carimex has begun. I am glad that the investor fulfilled his obligations towards the city of Pilsen. For us, this is good news, because the black building has been a disgrace to our district for decades,” says the mayor of Čtyřka, Tomáš Soukup. “For the district, this building was not only a visual burden, but also a security risk. 90. Of course, there was also a lot of waste here. We are therefore very happy that the building is being removed,” added the deputy mayor of Pilsen 4, Ing. Zdeněk Mádr.

A Pilsen entrepreneur began building the Carimex campus in 1997. Despite the building permit, he began to arbitrarily expand the building. An additional building permit was definitively refused in 2019.
