A man who fell asleep on a bench while waiting for a train in Kadani was very surprised. When he woke up, his cell phone was missing. The thief who robbed the sleeping passenger was quickly discovered by the police. He now faces up to two years in prison.

The perpetrator took the opportunity to rob a man in the lobby of the train station in Kadani. “The victim, who was waiting for the train on the bench, unfortunately fell asleep and his mobile phone fell out of his hand on the ground. This did not escape the initially unknown thief who was nearby. He bent under the bench, picked up the mobile phone and left the station,” described police spokeswoman Miroslava Glogovská.
When the passenger woke up, he started looking for his cellphone. When he failed, he called the law enforcement officer. The police in cooperation with the constables then revealed the perpetrator, he was a 37-year-old man from Rokycan. The police officers there arrested him. “If he is found guilty by the court, according to the law he faces a prison sentence of up to two years,” Miroslava Glogovská added.
