Several Czech sympathizers of the Russian motorcycle club Night Wolves honored the memory of Soviet and Czechoslovak soldiers who died during the Second World War at the Olšan Cemetery on Monday, May 6. Similar to previous years, several of their opponents gathered in front of the cemeteries. The police were monitoring the whole situation.

This year, the motorcyclists completed the trip for the tenth time, and in recent days they also went to the Central Cemetery in Brno.
Yesterday’s event was supervised by police officers and members of the anti-conflict team. Among the supporters of the Night Wolves, as in previous years, SPD deputy Jaroslav Foldyna was also present, and the chairwoman of the Prague Communist Party, Marta Semelová, also came to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers.

Every year, the Noční vlci motorcycle club organizes rides through European countries, including the Czech Republic, on the occasion of the anniversary of the end of the Second World War. However, their actions arouse anger among the authorities, as the association is often described as extremely nationalist. In addition, the head of the Night Wolves, Alexander Zaldostanov, is on the US and EU sanctions list for supporting the Russian annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea.
