After the winter break, the exciting Terror returns to the courtroom of the District Court in Uherské Hradiště. The court drama, which the Slovak Theater presents as the only one in the world directly in an authentic setting, will also celebrate its 25th reprise on June 18.

The production by director Petr Smyczko deals with the trial of military pilot Lars Koch, who shot down a plane with 164 innocent people on board. The plane hijacked by the terrorist was heading to the football stadium, which was full of people at the time. Is it possible to kill dozens of people to save 70,000 others? In this case, the audience themselves become the jury, who decide during the break whether the pilot is guilty or not guilty.

“The environment alone adds authenticity to the production, while the harmony of the ensemble is even more evident in this chamber grouping. The court process looks realistic, while I appreciate the superstructure in the form of modeling the individual characters of the judges. Among the actors, I would single out Jakub Zelinka in the cold-thinking accused soldier, and Josef Kubáník, who modeled the President as a person who is touched by little after years of experience and a well-established routine,” wrote critic Jiří Landa.

“We like terror very much and I haven’t heard a single negative opinion from the audience, on the contrary, after watching our production, they talk about it for a long time and from all sides discuss the guilt or innocence of the character I play. What more could I ask for?” smiles young actor Jakub Zelinka, for whom the character of Lars Koch was his first major acting opportunity in a professional theater. Spectators can see Terror in May and June.
