In the course of 1924, production of the A-22 airplane, which was used as a mail and transport airplane, started at Aero. In the years 1925 and 1926, “twenties” in Aero factory colors served as mail and transport aircraft on the regular route Prague – Mariánské Lázně. A total of three A-22s were produced.
Between 1925 and 1926, the company Aero obtained a license and operated a postal and transport line between Prague and Mariánské Lázně. During the service of the line, two A-22s flew twice a day. One flight lasted approximately 45 minutes.
During the duration of the “spa” line, A-22 aircraft flew 82,434 kilometers and managed to transport a total of 961 passengers and over 7,000 kilos of parcels and letter shipments without incident.
After carrier service ended, the A-22s spent time at the Aero factory before being sold to private owners in the early 1930s. The last A-22 was deleted from the aviation register in 1937.

The Aero A-22 was a biplane three-seater transport aircraft of mixed construction. The plane was adapted for the transport of two passengers and mail. The fuselage of the A-22 was welded from steel tubes and covered with canvas, the wings and two-bladed propeller were wooden.
The machine was equipped with a water-cooled six-cylinder engine with an output of 245 horsepower. The twenty-two had a span of 12.78 meters and a length of 8.34 meters. The plane had a range of 320 km and its maximum speed was 199 km/h.
The designer of the transport aircraft A-22, which was based on the design of the reconnaissance machine A-12, was the chief designer Antonín Husník.
