Representatives of the Transport Company of the city of Ústí nad Labem, the city of Ústí and the vehicle manufacturer SOR presented and christened the first SOR NS 18 buses on May 9 at the Předlice bus depot.

The transport company of the city of Ústí nad Labem issued a contract for the purchase of 5 low-floor buses of category 18 at the beginning of 2023. It issued a public contract for the purchase of 5 low-floor buses of category 18 m. SOLARIS CZECH, ZLINER and SOR Libchavy were interested in the contract. The contract was concluded by the transport company with SOR, whose offer was evaluated as the most advantageous.

In April of this year, these five high-capacity low-floor buses with a length of 18 meters were delivered. This year, the transport company expects one more vehicle as part of the signed addendum to the contract. All buses are equipped with fully automatic air conditioning for passengers and USB-C standard chargers for portable electronics.

On all new vehicles, the logic and method of controlling the door demand system is unified. The vehicles are equipped with LED headlights, an electrically heated front window, automatic wipers reacting to the intensity of the rain, tire pressure control and, last but not least, an anti-collision system that monitors the vehicle’s surroundings and informs the driver visually and acoustically before a possible collision with vulnerable road users such as pedestrians or cyclists.

Buses have a new visual identity, which refers to the exterior painting of the vehicle and mandatory vehicle markings. The transport company spent CZK 47,000,000 on the purchase of 5 buses.

Next year, in autumn, another six buses from Libchav will contribute to the further modernization of buses in urban transport. This time twelve-meter ones.
