Road repairs are in full swing and some more are on the way. The Olomouc Report provides an overview of current and upcoming closures that drivers and passengers may encounter on the road.
The repair of the D1 highway between the villages of Mořice in Prostějovsk and Kroměříž began on Wednesday. Here, the Directorate of Roads and Highways is completing the missing parts after last year’s reconstruction. The road repair is expected to last until June, and drivers are waiting in the narrowing section. More info.
Repairs are also underway on another section of the D1, between Bělotín na Přerovsk and Bravantice. These are the repairs of three bridges. Operation works in 2+2 mode.
Drivers are also waiting for a shuttle service between Šternberk and Dolní Žleb. The complete closure is over, so now you will drive around the car park in a shuttle, the traffic here is controlled by traffic lights. The partial closure is valid until October. More info.
Until Friday, May 10, there is a train lockout on line 301 between Prostějov and Nezamyslice. The railway administration is carrying out construction work here, so passengers must use alternative bus transport instead of the train.
Repairs to Pavelkova Street in Olomouc are still ongoing, but they should finish next week. Drivers won’t drive through here yet. You can find the detour route here.
The next road repair will begin on Monday, directly in Olomouc. It will take more than a month to repair Dlouhá ulica. The last section of repairs is 365 meters long, and together with the road repair, the reconstruction of the bus stop Finanční úřad will also begin. A complete closure awaits drivers, in the range from the cul-de-sac Dlouhá street “vnitroblok” to Václava III street. More info.
