Oaccording to the agency Ipsos, the position can be changed in the European elections in the referendum on the governing coalition. The first opportunity to criticize the current government is the strongest motive for those who want to vote. Elections to the European Parliament will be held exactly one month from now – July 6 and 9. ei vol 7. and 8. ervna.

In Germany, Ipsos gave the respondents a map of the conditions before the European elections to choose from eight options, for which they want to go to the polls. Most of them, 37 percent, answered “because I want to express my views on the current government”. Only in other places did motifs related to the union appear.

It is thus confirmed that Ervnov’s polling station will be the fifth test of Fial’s coalition in the middle of his mandate, which is what the party is striving for.

“The European elections will be a referendum on government,” commented Michal Kormak, editor of external relations at Ipsos, on the result of a poll from the end of April among a representative sample of the press. For the reason, the agency asked those who “fill in” to vote in the European elections.

“The frequency of blocking the motive to come out to the government increases with the age of the respondents. The old and the oldest voters are typical ANO supporters today. The leader of the movement, Andrej Babio, can be asked about the Fialov coalition in the European elections,” added Kormak.

The domestic agenda dominates the European elections in other EU countries. However, according to Kormak, Ipsos does not have data to compare to what extent the measure, even with 37 percent, deviates from the European average or how this motive has changed over time.

“Before the last European elections, in 2019, we did not ask about it,” kKormak. According to him, the number itself – 37 percent – did not surprise him.

“What I did not expect is that the motive to penalize the government will be in the first place. It shows that the people consider the government to be jointly responsible for everything, and thus that the EU still can’t connect much with it. Don’t know the shortcut, what to check off, so choose because of the current government.”

As a second option, for those planning to go to the upcoming European elections, the most people said “I want to influence the direction and content of EU policy” (32 percent). Then “I want concrete problems to be solved in the EU (migration, climate change, economy…)”. 26 percent of respondents chose “my views and interests to be represented on the European level” as the main motive. This motive is strongest among young voters under the age of 24 (43 percent).

First-time voters, get ready to go to the polls. On the contrary, their slightly older compatriots, people in the most productive age of 25 and 34, are the group that, according to Ipsos, will miss the European elections the most.

“This age group is, on average, interested in any election, not just the European one,” Kormak points out. “and mortgages, children and the general day goes by the wayside.”

The pensioner stands at the other end of the tusk. People over the age of 65 (70 percent) are not interested in the elections, including the European ones. Thus, it reinforces the fact that the European vote in the Czech Republic will be the most powerful among the supporters of Babiov’s ANO and the governing parties.
