Domašov (Brno) – An accident involving a police van and a passenger car stopped traffic on the D1 highway outside Brno at the 174th kilometer in the direction of Prague this morning. You get off the highway at the 178th kilometer near Ostrovačice, and return to the 168th kilometer near Devíti Křížů. Four people were injured, including two police officers. One of the police officers is seriously injured. Police spokeswoman Bohumil Malášek and emergency services spokeswoman Michaela Bothová told ČTK. A column formed on the spot.

The accident happened around 10:30. A spokeswoman for the emergency services said they had sent six vehicles to the scene, including a large-capacity ambulance. Rescuers had to call off the helicopter due to bad weather. “We treated four patients, including two policemen. One policeman is seriously injured, we took him to the emergency department of the Brno University Hospital. The other three patients have moderate to severe injuries, after treatment we took them to the emergency department of the St. Anna University Hospital. Both said.

At the exit to Ostrovačice, where the police are diverting traffic, according to highway information boards, a queue of more than ten kilometers has formed. An accident in roughly the same place also happened in the opposite direction, i.e. towards Brno, where, according to the Dopravniinfo.cz website, two cars collided around 10:50. There were no injuries in this accident, the left lane was blocked. The convoy was also formed in the direction of Brno, the delay was a maximum of an hour. It was possible to open both lanes in the direction of Brno before 14:00
