The dispute between the attacked and Milan B. escalated when he came to see the attacker together with his acquaintance at a hostel in Karlovy Vary in January this year. They wanted the bicycle back, they suspected Milan B. of having stolen it. But they asked the evil one.
“The defendant grabbed a kitchen knife and when the victim turned around he stabbed him in the back,” stated prosecutor Martin Rykl. The attacked man and his friend started to run, Milan B. with a knife in his hand behind them.
“Outside I reached behind my back and found that my hand was covered in blood,” recalled the attacked. Police officers were passing by at the time and helped the attacked. “They held me, I wanted to throw up, then an ambulance came and took me to the hospital,” the victim added.
Milan B. described the situation somewhat differently. “I opened the door and he pushed me until I fell. I grabbed a knife on the table and yelled at them to get off. He wanted to kick me, so I stabbed him. I had agreed with him that I would return the bike to him. But when they came, there was no question about the bicycle, they wanted money from me. It was a mistake that I talked to people before that I had them,” Milan B testified.
A six-year sentence in a maximum security prison is not valid. Both the public prosecutor and the defendant kept a period of reflection.
