The new one, which was mediated by the Thuringian Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow and somewhere in the Federal Office of Work Frank-Jrgen Weise, started on Monday. The final deadline for reaching the agreement was considerable, but the longest was a quarter of a year. On Thursday, these unions wanted to decide on the elimination of another hundred, which could paralyze Easter traffic.

We are satisfied with the result of the women’s dispute, the DPA agency quoted trade union negotiator Marvin Reschinsky as saying. The airlines expressed their satisfaction, but they noted that, in addition to wages, there are also costs involved.

Details will be announced by the unions and the airline on Thursday. The Verdi unions demanded a wage increase of 12.5 percent, at least 500 euros (12,600 K) per month, and thus a one-time anti-inflation bonus of 3,000 euros (roughly 75,800 K). In addition to the bonus, Lufthansa increased the salary by ten percent.

Previous talks, which the unions and the airlines had conducted without means, ended in failure. The fact that the trade unions tried to increase the pressure on Lufthansa in different ways did not help finding one. Problems due to the protest affected hundreds of thousands of passengers and connections with the Czech Republic were also disrupted.
