At least eight people have been injured in Russia’s Belgorod region following a drone attack that the local administration has attributed to the Ukrainian Air Force. The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, writes on the Telegram network about seven injured adults and an injured 11-year-old girl, 37 damaged vehicles and several apartment buildings.
Most of the damage falls on the city of Belgorod itself. On the other hand, the Ukrainian Air Force today reports that it shot down 17 of the 20 drones sent by Russia over the Odesa region.
Another alleged Ukrainian drone attack damaged several oil tanks at a refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region, Reuters reported today. Russian forces said they destroyed six incoming drones and their debris fell near the village of Jurovka, which is about 60 kilometers from Russian-occupied Crimea.
“About six drones were destroyed, but several of them fell into the depot area. This caused a fire that damaged several storage tanks,” the administration of the Krasnodar region said.
The governors of Russia’s Kursk and Bryansk regions announced further drone strikes last night, but according to them, the attacks did not cause any damage or casualties.
Russia’s border regions are facing shelling and drone attacks attributed to Ukraine by Russian authorities in connection with Russia’s invasion of a neighboring country. Kiev said it was doing so in response to the essentially daily bombing of Ukrainian cities by Russian forces.
Ukraine has been resisting the Russian military invasion for more than two years. On Wednesday night, it faced a massive attack from the Russian army, which was attacking energy infrastructure almost all over the country.
