The Ukrainians report another success in the offensive

The information was confirmed by representatives of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He himself, in a regular evening address, spoke of having good news from military commanders and the head of the intelligence services.

“Step by step,” Andriy Jermak, the head of President Zelensky’s office, wrote on Twitter about a photo of soldiers allegedly hoisting a flag on the roof of a hospital in the town of Vysokopilya.

Later, it was also shared by his deputy Kyrylo Tymoshenko, who wrote to her: “Vysokopilya. Kherson region. Ukraine. Free”.

Also, a number of Russian channels on Telegram dedicated to the war in Ukraine confirm that Russian troops were forced to leave the town. For example, the former commander of pro-Russian separatists in Donbas, Igor Girkin, also known as Strelkov, wrote about it. He described the loss of the town as a “sensible tactical failure”.

Radio Svoboda writes that Vysokopilya was one of the hubs of Russian defense in the north of the Kherson region. The Ukrainian army launched a counter-offensive in the Kherson region on August 29. Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, said that liberating the occupied territories in the south of the country will be a long and very difficult process. The Kherson region, located north of Crimea, which Moscow annexed eight years ago, was taken over by the Russian army soon after the start of the current invasion.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyi said on Sunday, without further details, that Ukrainian soldiers have taken control of two places in southern and one in eastern Ukraine, and one more area in the east of the country. He did not mention specific names, nor did he specify when the Ukrainians conquered them. “Ukrainian flags are returning to where they belong,” the president said.

On Sunday, information appeared on social networks about the liberation of the village of Ozerne in the Donetsk region. Ozerne lies on the left bank of the North Donets River, on which other villages are occupied by Russian forces.
