The floorball career of Mladá Boleslav striker Jan Natov at the highest level has come to an end. The announcement of the end of the experienced floorball player came on Thursday morning, but the team knew about everything earlier, as Natov revealed in an interview for the Mladá Boleslav YouTube channel. In total, he played in Boleslav for nine years and won three championship titles.

In recent seasons, Jan Nat’s health has troubled him, yet he says goodbye as a five-time Czech champion, he won two titles with Tatran Střešovice, three times he rejoiced in the ranks of Boleslav, which he led as captain from the 2019/2020 season.

Natov bids farewell as the fourth most unproductive player in the regular season of the Czech top flight, having scored 326 goals in 323 matches and assisted in another 210. In the playoffs, he had a score of 77+68 in 119 games.

His teammates knew about his end earlier. “Together with Milan Tomašík, I discussed the topic of the end of my career a lot and I told him if it could be motivation for my teammates. We agreed that it was, so I told the boys before the sixth semi-final match in Vítkovice that this could be the last match of my career,” he revealed in an interview for his team’s YouTube channel.

“I am grateful for the fact that I could play for Bolka and give people that joy. When I joined the club nine years ago, I was mainly thinking about sporting goals, but I also realized a lot of things here. What I take away from here the most is that I have grown as a person. I wouldn’t be afraid to say: a responsible person. I appreciate that I had this opportunity and especially the support of Tomáš Pacák, because I know how much he has done for me. I know it wasn’t much and it wasn’t always easy for him. Sport was of course number 1, but during those nine years I realized what is important in life,” he said on the Mladá Boleslav website.
