First, to the current problem. VAR will oversee the duels between Olomouc and Sparta, Hradec Králové and Slavia, Baník Ostrava and Liberec and České Budějovice and Slovácko. Greater coverage of concurrently played matches is currently not possible.
“The absence of the VAR system in the four matches of the 30th round of FORTUNA:LIGY is due to capacity reasons in the specialized vehicle fleet, which also happened in previous seasons precisely at the moments when, in the final part of the year, all matches have a uniform kick-off time. We believe that this problem will be solved in the near future by building a VAR center,” says Pavel Jahoda, director of communications for LFA professional competitions.
The League Football Association wanted VAR, for example, in the important rescue battle between Zlín and Karvina. “Based on these facts, the LFA has determined that, in addition to the televised matches, the VAR system will also be used in the two duels in which the promotion to the Group for the title will be decided,” explains Jahoda.

From the new season of the league, which will bear the name of the betting company Chance, a VAR center will be available, from where the referees will check all matches on video. For example, the German Bundesliga or the French Ligue 1 have similar headquarters. VAR referees will therefore no longer be in the stadiums, they will only have technology, which will allow all matches to be supervised regardless of when they are played.
As the winner of the tender for television broadcasting rights, O2 TV had the obligation to build this center. “We are working on it, we have the location and we are dealing with the delivery of the appropriate equipment. We should present everything together with the LFA and the referees before the new league year, the headquarters will be there from the summer,” points out David Solnař, press spokesman for O2 TV Sport. The place where the center will be set up remains a secret for now.
It also applies that O2 TV will provide a calibrated line for assessing offside situations from the new year.
