NHL | Bloody conclusion in Colorado. The Jets defenseman limped off the ice with a cut hand

--

In the final 20 minutes, the home team Avalanche hungrily pounced on their opponents, used power plays and turned the score from 1:2 to 5:2 in less than eleven minutes. Another puck landed in Winnipeg’s empty goal on the power play in a desperate attempt to cut the deficit, and the Jets were nervous in the end.

Half a minute before the end, their captain Adam Lowry got into a fight, and after the end of the playing time, a confusing mass fight broke out, in which Dillon was also actively involved. The 33-year-old Jets defender was then stepped on in a scrum on the hand, on which he had a deep cut. Blood also stained the jersey of Dillon’s opponent in the scrimmage, Brandon Duhaime, before the referees noticed the injury and the visiting player was burned in the booths.

Winnipeg coach Rick Bowness was very concerned after the game. “When you see blood, it’s understandable,” he said. However, he did not have additional information about Dillon’s condition. The Jets quarterback logged two plus two minutes for the fight he helped start. That he would appear on the ice in Game 4 of the series on Sunday night, however, is not at all likely. At the same time, Dillon plays an average of over 20 minutes per game.

“A scary situation,” said teammate Josh Morrissey. “We are all really worried about him. We just hope he’ll be okay.’

Jets fans, who are down 1-2 in the series, are concerned not only about Dillon’s condition but also about the statistics of No. 1 goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, one of the candidates for the Vezina Trophy. However, in the wild series with Colorado, the 30-year-old American has an average of 5.05 goals conceded per game and a save success rate of only 87.1 percent.

“Bad discipline deprived us of everything. But if it was 2:3 or 2:6, it doesn’t matter. Colorado won at our place once, we have to win at their place on Sunday,” said Bowness. “Game four will be key,” nodded fullback Morrissey.
