Forward Adrian Kempe will extend his season to the World Cup after being eliminated from the NHL playoffs with Los Angeles. The most read Swedish portal Expressen informs about it.

“I feel healthy and fresh,” reports the 27-year-old winger in an interview with the aforementioned website. Kempe will play at the World Cup for the fourth time in his career: he has a gold medal from 2018. “The end of the NHL season was sad, but I want to keep playing. I don’t feel well yet free time, it’s nice to have the chance to win something,” he says.

And indeed… The Swedes will have great chances to end their six-year wait for a medal at the championships in Ostrava and Prague. The foundations of the defense will be formed by stars Victor Hedman, Erik Karlsson, Rasmus Dahlin and Jonas Brodin. Detroit star Lucas Raymond will take care of the goals again.

And now the Swedish squad will move Adrian Kempe up another level, who has three fantastic seasons in the NHL: this year he scored 80 points in 82 duels, and last year he scored a total of 46 goals.

In addition, the arrival of his Los Angeles teammate Viktor Arvidsson remains in play. On the other hand, the start of Filip Forsberg, whose Nashville fell out of the NHL playoffs last night, is excluded – he declined the invitation for family reasons, as he expects the birth of a child in the next few days.
