Palat sent his opponent over the guardrail and set the arena on fire. Gudas is probably jealous, frowning

It was almost the only bright moment in a miserable first period. In the 14th minute, Palát emphatically finished off the Swiss defender Jung, who flew between the substitutes to the photographers, which the Brno arena loudly appreciated. “I just want to finish him off and take the puck away from him. I gave him a hit and I didn’t even know he flew over the guardrail. Yeah, good,” smiled the 33-year-old winger. “At least something for the audience,” he pointed out.

The fans once again created a great atmosphere, but again they didn’t have much reason to be happy. A few of them even booed the players after the unsuccessful first part. “I didn’t notice it much. The fans were great all three games. Of course it would be better to win. They are excited for the championship, hopefully the Czech team will perform much better there,” said Palát.

The representatives definitely have something to work on. They scored just two goals in three games. “We are struggling, the energy is there, but we are toothless in attack. We need more ideas and cleverness, to slow down the game a bit,” commanded the experienced forward.

Numerical advantages did not work either. The national team did not use even one of the ten for the tournament. “We didn’t train power plays, which is not ideal. We just drew something on the board and played it the way we’re used to from the clubs,” he noted.

According to the native of Frýdek-Místek, there is definitely no time to panic. “It’s just preparation. It doesn’t make us nervous,” he said. He could not say whether the tense fight for the nomination could have affected the performances. “I can’t speak for the boys. Of course, there are a lot of us here, but the training sessions were fast even with such a number. I don’t know if the guys were nervous, I felt good,” he described.

Coach Radim Rulík will announce the nomination for the domestic championship, which starts for the Czech team on Friday with a match against Finland, at a press conference at approximately 9:00 p.m. “And the coaches should notify us within thirty minutes to an hour. So we’ll stretch out and wait,” Palát said shortly after the end of the match.
