  • The successor to the Nintendo Switch is supposed to offer 4K resolution in docked mode
  • There are also technologies from Nvidia, such as DLSS Ray Reconstruction for better ray tracing
  • Unfortunately, it still looks like we won’t see a new Nintendo Switch this year

Although the Nintendo Switch console is not one of the most powerful on the market, it is very popular among gamers – after all, the Japanese company’s gaming device has sold over 139 million units worldwide. Given that the console saw the light of day in 2017, it’s no wonder fans are already eagerly awaiting a successor. According to the initial speculations, we should have seen this this year, but then there were rumors that the new console from Nintendo will not arrive until next year.

The more powerful Nintendo Switch 2 will offer 4K resolution

After sharing a post on Facebook that allegedly revealed new information about Nintendo’s yet-to-be-announced new console, Chinese maker Mobapad has taken to its official website to boast a new message that reveals some more information about the console. According to the manufacturer, the Nintendo Switch 2 docking station will not differ much from the current one, but under its hood will be higher performance and 4K resolution support, which is not entirely surprising considering that the system will reportedly support Nvidia DLSS technology.

Thanks to Mobapad, we were able to learn a few more details about the new Joy-Con controllers. The controllers will feature metal SL and SR buttons, as well as some new buttons on the left and right sides, as well as an all-new function button located below the home button. We still have no idea what this button is for.

Don’t overlook

Nintendo Switch 2 will be uncompromising. It will offer performance like a classic PlayStation

Although the Nintendo Switch 2 is not supposed to offer any fundamental change in concept, we will most likely see a drastic increase in performance. The new system, powered by the T239 chip, will come with performance that shouldn’t be too different from the last generation consoles, but it will also get some new technologies. The console will also reportedly support ray tracing, along with Nvidia DLSS Ray Reconstruction technology.
