Last week, the gaming world resonated with the case surrounding Helldivers 2 and the need to create a PSN account for the PC version. Criticism from players, combined with Steam approving refunds, eventually paid off cancellation of this requirement. Apparently, however, Sony has not given up on efforts to implement a PSN account into individual PC titles. This is proven by the situation surrounding the game Ghost of Tsushima, which will be released on computers on May 16.

While the game’s developers from Sucker Punch Productions revealed a few days ago that PSN will not be needed to play the base game, they added in one breath that for multiplayer, players cannot do without a PlayStation account. Those interested in the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima have therefore started, what this will mean for users in more than 170 countries where PSN is not officially available. In the case of Helldivers 2, Steam immediately withdrew the title from sale in the mentioned countries and refunded existing players.

The same year has now been joined by major digital store Green Man Gaming in the case of Ghost of Tsushima. Its representatives cited the requirement to create a PSN account to play multiplayer as a reason, which players in the affected countries cannot formally fulfill. Green Man Gaming has already ended pre-order sales in affected regions and started refunds. However, it is necessary to point out that the current situation only concerns this store. Other sellers, led by Steam, have not yet taken a similar step.

So I guess Sony is going after other games as well
