--
Are you entrepreneurial? Do you have an idea or an innovative idea? Come introduce her to us and start your business! The Rector of BUT announced the fifth year of the BUT Student Entrepreneurship Award! competition, in which up to ten student ideas can win. Registration started today, April 24, and will continue until May 22.

The purpose of the BUT Student Entrepreneurship Award! competition, which is part of the Come to Business! project, is to support the ideas and innovative thinking of BUT students, awaken their ingenuity and increase their interest in entrepreneurship. Students can validate their projects directly in practice, thanks to which they gain valuable business experience.

The competition is intended for students of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs. Participants will not only receive mentoring, but the winning ideas of the second and third rounds will also receive a financial reward to help them start implementing the project. A total of one million crowns is distributed among the ten best rated ideas. The BUT Student Entrepreneurship Award competition is organized in cooperation with the South Moravian Innovation Center.

Energy saving projects dominated last year. The first and second places were taken by the Volteek and Watee projects, which focus on energy saving applications. Duncal Technologies, which targets airsoft players, and MaNoSens, which develops an ecosystem for smart homes, shared third to fourth place. Other successful projects included the DeeperSleeper sleep assistant, the universal machine belt sander, the Digital express website generator and the design of the Infinite Wind Turbine.

For students who want to apply for the competition, a webinar is prepared with tips on what to expect from the evaluation committee and how to correctly fill out the registration form. Its contents include a description of the business plan, a competition analysis and a financial plan.

The project Let’s do business! belongs to the contriBUTe innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem, which focuses on solving problems. “The competition provides students with the opportunity and space to develop their creativity, teamwork skills and, of course, entrepreneurial thinking, which is what they will need in the real world after graduation. BUT students are brilliant and full of ideas, they are not afraid to look for new solutions for current social and technological challenges,” said project guarantor Jan Pěnčík.

Details about the competition, information on registration and conditions of participation can be found on the website of the competition.
