Weather: Thunderstorms and heavy downpours will hit the Czech Republic. See where they’ll run wild the most

--

Thunderstorms accompanied by increased wind and rain will hit the Czech Republic on Sunday as well. According to experts from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), they are more likely to occur in the afternoon, in the area from southern Bohemia to northwestern Moravia. Pleasant temperatures, which climb up to 25 °C, may also be interrupted by showers in the rest of the territory.

According to ČHMÚ meteorologist Martin Adamovský, rains and storms should occur mainly in the afternoon. “Their occurrence is more likely in the area from southern Bohemia through Vysočina, partly also in the north or northwest of Moravia,” stated CNN’s Prima NEWS.

During Sunday clouds will increase from the west. Showers will occur across the area. “However, there will be fewer of them in Silesia and Bohemia. We expect the highest temperatures in Moravia, where they can rise to 25 degrees Celsius,” Adamovský explained, adding that, on the other hand, in the west of our territory, thermometers will measure around 18 °C. Precipitation and clouds should stop by the evening.

At night from Sunday to Monday according to the forecast of the ČHMÚ experts, we expect partly clear to almost clear skies. However, clouds will increase from the west. The lowest temperatures will be between 11 and 7 °C.

Monday will be accompanied by heavy cloud cover. Showers or rain will appear in most areas. Rarely, storms can surprise, especially in the evening in the south-eastern half of the territory. “It will be warmer again in Moravia and Silesia, where we will measure around 21 to 25 degrees Celsius. In the Czech Republic, it will be around 17 to 21 degrees Celsius,” said Adamovský on the CNN Prima NEWS broadcast.
