The No. 27-ranked Tar Heels and Tigers will meet at 10 am on Friday in Barksdale Stadium. Host and No. 7 seed Tennessee will play East Tennessee State on Friday at 1 pm The winners will meet on Saturday at 4 pm in Knoxville.
Carolina earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship after a 14-9 regular season. The Tar Heels tied for fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the ACC Championship.
UNC is making its 10th consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship and is seeking its 10th straight trip to the Round of 16.
Memphis (18-6) reached the final of the AAC Championship last month, dropping a 4-3 decision to Charlotte in the championship match.
