Gregg Alexander, American musician (1970)
Singer of the American New Radicals, with whom he released only one, but very successful album, Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed Too. The biggest hit from it, You Get What You Give, was used in the presidential campaign by Joe Biden. Gregg continues to write hits for his colleagues, Ronan Keating, Sophie Ellis Bextor or Santana.
Jackie Jackson, American singer (1951)
Michael Jackson’s older brother, real name Sigmund Esco Jackson, was like his other male siblings a member of the Jackson 5. His debut album in 1969 was called Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5. His subsequent solo career did not do well. Jackie is the owner of two record labels and the executive producer of the reality show The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty.

The first Grammy Awards took place. Awards were received by Perry Como, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra or Henry Mancini. Awards presented by the National Academy of Musical Arts and Sciences in the United States of America for outstanding achievements in the music industry were originally called the Gramophone Awards.
