On Wednesday morning, the police and firefighters went to a mysterious traffic accident. On the road from Litomyšl to Polička, near the sharp bend between Sebranice and Pohodlí, according to tracks in the grass, a car left the road and ended up wedged between trees. When the firemen arrived at the scene, not only the driver was gone, but also the car’s license plate. It has now been established that they were foreigners.

“We managed to identify the driver – a foreigner, we will question him and proceed accordingly,” said police spokeswoman Markéta Janovská.
“On Wednesday around half past seven in the morning, a passing driver on route 158 informed us of a crashed vehicle in the forest, on road II/360 between Litomyšl and Polička, ‘on Dolečká’. It was a Nissan Qashqai vehicle that was driven between trees in such a way that we they had to ask the firemen to literally cut through the vehicle with chainsaws. There was no one in the vehicle and the registration plates were also removed from the vehicle,” said police spokeswoman Markéta Janovská.

Professional firefighters also released information on the accident on Wednesday morning.
“In Dolní Újezd, on the morning of the holiday, two units of firefighters responded to an accident involving a car that ended up off the road. The car was literally stuck between tree trunks. The firefighters could not even get to the car. After an agreement with the police, we ensured that the operating fluids did not leak. Using engine drank, then the firefighters had to create a path and free the car from the tangle of branches and trunks with the help of a crane,” said regional fire department spokeswoman Vendula Horáková.
