The largest airport terminal in the world will be built in Dubai. It can hold up to 260 million people

Today (Sunday) we approved the designs for the new passenger terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport and initiated the construction of the AED 128 billion building as part of Dubai Aviation Corporation’s strategy, he said. The construction of new premises will thus cost approximately 820 billion crowns.

This step represents a massive investment in the development of aviation infrastructure in Dubai. The new terminal, which will be the largest in the world, will offer capacity for 260 million passengers and will quadruple the number of international flights currently in Dubai. It will have 400 departure gates and five runways.

The operation of some airlines is being transferred to the new premises. The new airport will, for example, become home to the flagship carrier Emirates and its non-consolidated sister company Flydubai, along with other partner airlines. Within ten years, Dubai’s international flight will be operated gradually in the evening.

Dubai International Airport is the fastest airport in Asia and holds many records, including the world’s first baggage check-in system. There, Terminal 3 is the second largest building in the world by floor area. During the last year, 86,994,365 pasars were registered to fly.

Dubai flies from its position as a transit hub for flights between Europe and North America and the Asia-Pacific region, with half of the passengers passing through the flight first within the transit flight chain.
