The Palestinian radical movement Hamas has a negative view of the latest proposal for a cease-fire agreement with Israel, but negotiations are still going ahead. With reference to the statement of Hamas, the server of The Times of Israel informs about this today.

“Our position on the current draft of the agreement is negative,” Hamas leader Osama Hamdan first told Al-Manar TV, which is linked to the Lebanese radical movement Hezbollah. The press service of Hamas later made a similar statement. “The negative opinion does not mean that negotiations have been stopped,” the movement pointed out.

The Times of Israel noted that Hamas could present its modified version of the agreement today. Hamdan warned that the upcoming Israeli operation in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip would mean the collapse of the negotiations.

The latest draft of the ceasefire agreement was presented by negotiators from Egypt, Qatar and the United States. One of its main goals is to achieve a ceasefire in exchange for the release of hostages held by Hamas since the movement’s October 7 terrorist attack on Israel.
