Ukraine attacked with drones in the Kaluga region south of Moscow. The target was a refinery, according to Russian and Ukrainian media.
The server of The Moscow Times said on a telegram, referring to local residents, that the characteristic sounds of the passage of several drones were heard. The industrial complex became the target of unmanned machines for the first time already in March, writes the Reuters agency.
According to the governor of the region, Vladislav Šapša, the attack did not leave any victims dead, the exact damages have not been calculated.
Attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil facilities in Russia have increased in recent months.
On Thursday afternoon, a drone hit a refinery in Bashkirsk, Russia, traveling a record thousand kilometers, writes the Ukrainska Pravda server with reference to the SBU secret service. Another reportedly Ukrainian drone strike damaged several oil tanks at a refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region.
Kyiv has confirmed that it was involved in some of the many attacks. The strikes are likely related to an attempt to limit fuel supplies to the Russian military and at the same time may reduce export revenues that Moscow uses to finance the war, Rádio Svoboda writes.
In late March, it was reported that as a result of attacks on oil refineries in Russia, the production of gasoline decreased by 14 percent and diesel by seven percent compared to the previous year.
According to British intelligence https://twitter.com/DefenceHQ/status/1771460760457150574 By March 23, Russia had lost at least ten percent of its oil-carrying capacity due to drone strikes. London believes that these attacks are causing financial losses to Russia and affecting its internal fuel market.
