A man brought in for questioning at a Paris police station seriously injured two police officers on Thursday night. At the police headquarters, he grabbed a gun from one of the law enforcement officers and started shooting. This is reported by the French media. The shooter also ended up in hospital with injuries.

The man was questioned by police at the police station in the 13th arrondissement of Paris on suspicion of domestic violence. Around 22:30 CET, however, he took the pistol from one of them and seriously injured at least two policemen, who are being treated by doctors. According to authorities, the man was attacking a woman and used a cleaver in the process. “The police intervened and brought him here (at the commissary), and when they interrogated him, he took the gun,” Paris police chief Laurent Nuňez described the case to journalists.
According to him, one of the police officers on duty hit the shooter with his pistol. The offender is out of danger in the hospital. The man faces charges of attempted murder of a woman, two police officers, as well as armed assault on a public official.
