The Mini Aceman arrives as a small electric crossover

--

If the recently launched new countryman has grown considerably, the brand name at least honors the aceman. It measures 4075 mm in length, 1754 mm in width and 1495 mm in height, which places it at the bottom of the small SUV segment. It is 217 mm longer than the current Cooper hatchback and 354 mm shorter than the Countryman.

The design is completely based on the concept of the same name. It respects the short overhangs of the body, which it complements with elements typical for SUVs. The mask has a characteristic shape that is basically only indicated, the nose is covered for the sake of aerodynamics. The angular headlights give the car a specific expression, and so it is perhaps the bulldog that the brand often refers to most of all.

The novelty, despite its modest dimensions, promises a lot of headroom with enough room for shoulders and legs. The rear offers space for three passengers. By folding down the backrests of the rear seats divided in a ratio of 60:40, the luggage compartment can be increased from 300 to 1005 liters as needed.

The dominant feature of the interior, which is largely made up of recycled materials, is the round OLED display that was introduced in the mentioned new models. Also, the aceman completely lacks an instrument shield.

Two versions of the drive will be available. The Aceman E with a power of 135 kW/184 hp generates a torque of 290 Nm, which enables acceleration from rest to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

The 160 kW/218 hp Aceman SE delivers 330 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h.

The battery of the E version with a capacity of 42.5 kWh enables a range of up to 310 km in the WLTP test cycle. The SE variant has a capacity of 54.2 kWh, which according to the WLTP is enough for a range of 406 km.

The battery can be charged with an alternating current of 11 kW. Fast charging is possible for the MINI Aceman E model with a direct current of 75 kW and for the Aceman SE model up to 95 kW. At a fast charging station, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

The Aceman will go on sale in June this year, and deliveries to the first customers will start in October. The novelty already has set Czech prices for both versions. Aceman E starts at a price of CZK 845,000, the SE version starts at CZK 954,200.
