There are a lot of injustices going on in this country that simply have to be put up with because otherwise nothing much can be done about them. The phenomenon of the so-called “non-makachenka” is really problematic. These are people who, despite the demand for their workforce, simply do not want to work. The workers at the Employment Offices can cut each other up to offer them possible job positions and they throw one by one into the bin.

They want to grow up to it

They simply survive on various allowances and allowances. This is actually possible in the Czech Republic, and tens to hundreds of thousands of people do not work this way for a long time. But what happens when they reach retirement age and should start receiving a pension?

People commonly believe that this is where another injustice occurs. And the peeps in question often hope for it too, thinking that the state will take care of them again, as they are used to. However, despite all expectations and ideas, reality is not so simple.

A pension is the result of a kind of insurance, although it is a somewhat imprecise term, since you are not saving in your imaginary account, but throwing money into a continuous system, where it is immediately used up, while you have to hope that someone will also contribute to you when the tea.

How do you want to count it?

But in short, it is social insurance, and if you do not participate in it, you may also find that you are not entitled to a pension. And no, the widespread rumors that an unemployed person is automatically entitled to an average pension of 22,000 crowns do not really work here, because how else would it be calculated.

But in reality it is completely different. It is true that if you have not worked for 35 years including excluded periods, you are simply not entitled to a pension. The theoretical salvation lies precisely in the excluded time, which is also counted for the time spent at the employment office. The catch is that unemployment will only count towards your insurance for one year. If you are over 55 then you are entitled to three years of cover. But not more.

Every year, thousands of people discover that they will not receive any pension and will not do anything about it. The last saving grace for some of them is an exception, when they have to work until they are 70 years old. Then they only need to have 15 years of service, which is already more acceptable. But wonder at the world, some are not able to fulfill even that.
