Beer at the World Cup in Ostrava: in the home hall, Pilsen outside for 110. Tickets are also for the stars

The last days are left before the start of the hockey championship in the Czech Republic, in Ostrava the construction of fan zones in both parking lots at the Ostravar Arena, which will have a capacity of five thousand people, is in full swing, and the hall itself is also undergoing changes, where work is mainly being done on the media facilities. At the same time, it is partially known how much and what kind of beer the fans will pay for during the tournament, while there are still plenty of free tickets for certain matches, including the attractive ones.

The big holiday is near! Already on Friday, the sports peak of the year for the entire Czech Republic will begin in Prague and Ostrava. The Ostrava part will be “kicked off” by the duel between the Slovaks and the Germans, in the evening Sweden will meet the USA at the same place.

All of these teams will be loaded with NHL stars. Elite defenders Rasmus Dahlin and Erik Karlsson will start for Sweden, while Brady Tkachuk will play for the USA. Tickets for the United States of America, the Swedish team or the medalists from the last world championship – the Germans and the Latvians – are still on sale in the Ticketportal network. “The match between the USA and Sweden on the very first day of the tournament promises to be an excellent spectacle. And there are tickets,” head of media operations Štěpán Sedláček entices fans.

The Czechs will of course play in Prague, but even the Ostrava part of the tournament will not lose these battles. It is in the mentioned fanzones that there will be large screens on which the broadcasts will be broadcast.

“Thus, fans will have the opportunity to keep their fingers crossed for our hockey players and enjoy the unforgettable atmosphere of the World Cup together with other enthusiasts. And I believe it will be worth it, because the capacity of the Fan Zone is five thousand visitors and the entrance is free. You don’t need a match ticket or anything else for it,” says Irena Šašková, deputy president of the Ostrava IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship 2024 organizing committee.

The Fanzone will be open every day from 2 p.m., on days when three matches are played, even from 11 a.m. It will close with the end of the evening match, while also offering a large cultural program. However, what surprises many is the price of beer. As in Prague, Pilsen will be on tap in front of the hall for 110 crowns. Ostravar will then be in the hall, the price is still being negotiated.

“Visitors from all over the world can enjoy pilsner on draft from the finalists of the Master Bartender competition, try out a draft school or pub quizzes and many other activities,” presents the concept of National Sponsoring Manager of Pilsen Prazdroj Ladislav Kolář.
