In the role of founder, he joined the company Techmania Science Centrum ops Pilsen region, the status of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen changes from founder to strategic partner of Techmania. This follows from the agreement that was approved by the Representation of the Pilsen Region in April and signed by the region and the university at the beginning of the week.

“The Plzeň region supports Techmania with at least ten million crowns every year, but so far it has not had the opportunity to influence anything within the company. I therefore consider the region’s entry into the company to be a logical step. At the same time, I am glad that the University of West Bohemia will also continue the cooperation and thus remains our strategic partner,” says the Governor of the Pilsen Region, Rudolf Špoták.

The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen remains in TSC – in the role of a partner and expert consultant. “We are by no means abandoning Techmania, on the contrary, we will focus even more on areas that are beneficial and beneficial for all interested parties. The university will continue to participate in educational programs that popularize science in Techmania,” said ZČU rector Miroslav Lávička.

“The Plzeň region, as the founder, undertakes to provide the science center with annual financial support in the range of 14-20 million crowns between 2024 and 2028. The second of the founders, which is Škoda Investment, will provide support to Techmania in the amount of 40% of the support of the Pilsen region between 2024 and 2028,” explains Deputy Governor for Education and Sports Vladimír Kroc, adding that this year the region is ready to support the company in the amount of 20 million CZK

The Pilsen Region supports the Techmania Science Center on an ongoing basis, in the years 2014 – 2019 the company received an annual subsidy of 10 million CZK. In the years 2020 – 2021, it was already 14 million CZK.

Techmania Science centrum ops was founded on July 20, 2005. The founders were ZČU in Pilsen and Škoda Investment as, whose role in Techmania does not change and therefore remains in it as a founder.
