The big bank in the Czech Republic has a serious problem. She is in danger of being cut off from the system. The clients are already leaving

--

In general, banks should behave in such a way that they do not arouse any great emotions, especially negative ones. Unlike other businesses, their business is best done when they can do it quietly and nobody talks about it too much. But it doesn’t always work out, especially when the circumstances are absolutely against it.

It’s starting to get tough

Raiffeisenbank, which also operates in the Czech Republic, found itself in a truly unenviable position. In addition, it has branches in many countries of Central and Eastern Europe. She has been very successful there in recent years and has managed to build a very strong presence there.

But then came the infamous events of 2022 and the business in Russia, which is one of the biggest parts of the whole bank, became a big burden. However, unlike many other Western companies, Raiffeisenbank continues to operate in the local market, despite calls from various authorities and even the European Central Bank to leave the country.

The bank did try to maneuver for a while when it claimed that it was gradually winding down its operations there, but it looks like it was just a cover. On the contrary, there is information that Raiffeisenbank is an increasingly important player for the entire Russian financial system. In addition, it has also launched a massive recruitment drive in recent days, in the thousands, which does not look like it will leave the country.

People don’t care anymore

But on the international scene, it’s really starting to bother me. According to available information, this business is a thorn in the side of the United States of America. They sent their ambassador to Austria, who was supposed to tell the bank’s representatives that if they continue in this style, the entire bank is in danger of being cut off from the American banking system.

This would be a huge problem for any bank, especially such a large one. At the same time, it’s proof that it’s really getting tough and no one will mess with it anymore.

There is also another negative effect, which consists in the fact that many companies and clients leave Raiffeisenbank in the Czech Republic. They usually declare that they do not want to support a bank that works so closely with the Russian regime and indirectly supports it, including financially.
