The coronavirus pandemic has turned the labor market upside down. One of the hottest professions in 2020 became potaov experts. Back then, companies hired tens of thousands of them. But some of these experts are now getting rid of it. Some companies discovered that they have more IT employees than the actual need, and the worldwide wave of displacement was also reflected in the local labor market. Recently, companies have been more interested in productivity, for example the use of artificial intelligence. Reasons for turnover may include changes in IT strategy, restructuring, and reassessed workforce needs in response to changing conditions. Even with the current cooling of the labor market, there are still tens of thousands of mistakes by experts. And even when we are now observing increased availability of labor on the market and some companies are closing down or limiting recruitment, it is likely that the situation will change again, but not immediately. In the coming months, we expect the wave of breakthroughs in IT to continue, said Denisa Janatov, editor of the smitio company.

While a few years ago, companies recruited even me-experienced candidates and took note of them themselves, today the situation is different. Those who cannot keep up with the rapid development of technology will lose their competitiveness and their businesses will not be eaten. As the automation and implementation of AI progresses, the number of IT specialists who perform routine work such as gossip and system administration, data processing and user support will be gradually reduced. Thus, there will be less demand for developers who work with outdated technologies and programming languages. It is therefore necessary for experts to constantly develop and expand their horizons in the field of current technologies, explained Kateina Mareov, editor of the business department and the order department of the company smitio.

IT experts are familiar with the job market situation. But don’t give up on your demands just yet. On the other hand, applicants for junior positions usually fail with their demands for higher salaries in companies. Experienced professionals have a clear idea of ​​the value of their knowledge and experience and are not yet willing to lower their standard. On the other hand, juniors often have high salary demands, which do not always correspond to their experience and professional abilities. While in the past companies usually met their high demands due to the lack of female specialists, today, during the job search process, juniors usually overvalue their work and accept it as an offer. said Denisa Janatov. In addition, the current situation on the labor market reduces fluctuation. While a year ago it would have been impossible to leave the current position and go for a better one, today the change is much more important. We realize that there is not as much movement on the IT market as in the past. Many professionals leave their current employers and avoid the risk of uncertain changes, she added.

There are employee ties in information technologies. And the form of the employment relationship also affects the decision of the leader whether to keep the employee or not. About 70 percent of female IT professionals work as employees, the remaining 30 percent work on a contract basis, i.e. on IO. The type of bond also affects the process of developing the employment relationship. Companies usually first examine the nature and nature of jobs and then deal with balancing those that are less important. When deciding on the termination of an employment relationship, several factors are taken into account, including the type of employment relationship, wages and length of employment. Dissolution of cooperation with contractors (OSV) is usually easier and cheaper than in the case of full-time employees. That’s why I usually leave in the first wave, explained Kateina Mareov.

The security of a permanent and tight loan is represented by the financial sector. But the eggs don’t flock there. The public sector has a long-term problem with a lack of IT specialists due to low salaries and less attractive benefits. The average salary of female coating specialists is currently around 75 thousand crowns per month, which is roughly 40 percent less in the same sector. The situation should be helped by an amendment to the Act on State Services, which should increase the salary tables for employees and reduce the lack of IT workers in the state sector. However, current experience in the private sector will also help me. The main sector, to which the IT specialist does not reach and there are so many links in it, is the table, and I strongly accept it, Denisa Janatov concluded.
