Last year, 15% more people went abroad – length of stay decreased slightly, income increased

I traveled abroad last year for the first time before the COVID-19 pandemic. 7.8 million foreign trips were made, which represents a 15% increase between the year and 6% in 2019. If the length of stay did not change, they still paid more for the vacation. On average by 10%. According to the Czech statistical code (S), he dreamed of a person who dug out part of the road on his own fist. The travel agencies sent their position again. Traditionally, most people traveled to Croatia, Slovakia and Italy. Last year, Poland was also very stupid, on the other hand, Egypt fell by a quarter.

About a quarter of the trips were abroad

According to the data, they made a total of 28 million long and short trips last year. More than a quarter (27.8%) of them went abroad, five years ago it was only a fifth (20.5%). There were 12.5 million long stays (4 or more nights) last year, of which 45.3% (5.7 million) were abroad. Compared to 2022, this is a 7.7% increase and, according to long foreign trips, it has returned to the pre-pandemic level, or above 40%.

I eat twice as much for 1 and 3 nights, the average price has increased by a third

The data confirm that last year the consumption of one-night trips abroad increased sharply. A total of 1.8 million of them have already taken part, which is 33% more than in 2022.

It changed according to individual paths. They sent the passports

On their own, almost 3 million people went on vacations, which is 3.5% more than in 2022. According to individual trips, however, the percentage decreased. In 2022, 58% against 42% were in favor of individual roads, last year 56.3% against 43.7%. However, there were people who used the services of travel agencies for long stays abroad. There were a total of 2.3 million, i.e. 10.2% more than in 2022 and 5.8% more than 2019, to Vlastimil Divok, marketing and communication manager of ERV Evropsk Pojiovna.

The length of stay has decreased a little, the rates have increased

According to S data, the average length of one part of the journey abroad decreased slightly from 7.7 to 7.6 days last year. The average length of individual trips was 7.8 nights. There were a little longer organized trips that lasted an average of 7.5 nights last year.

In a good year, one trip abroad cost an average of 16,802 crowns. Compared to 2022, this is 4.8% nrst.

Jet vt nrst average prices were recorded for trips abroad for 1 and 3 nights, for which they even paid 10.2% more than a year ago (5,898 crowns). One-day weddings for trips abroad even increased by 12.3% from 1,567 crowns to 1,759.

Croatia leads, Slovakia defends second place and Italy third

Last year, a total of 815 thousand people went on vacation to Croatia in 2023, an increase of 3.7% year-on-year. The second city was overtaken by neighboring Slovakia, where 698 thousand people visited, and the most visited country was Italy, to which 22.7% of people liked to go, more than last year, a total of 637 thousand. The big one was Poland, where 327 thousand went, which is 19.8% more than in 2022 and even twice as much in 2019. Egypt, on the other hand, recorded the biggest drop, where 23% less people went in 2022, dovv Vlastimil Divok.
