Can you guess what birthday this movie is celebrating this year? It’s fifty. Václav Vorlíček directed popular Czech stars: Miloš Kopecky, Jaromír Hanzlík, Vladimír Menšík, František Filipovský or Stella Zázvorková.

The charming Libuška Šafránková was twenty-one at the time. By the way, she wore a wig throughout the filming, only in the last shot with the offspring we see her own hair.

Pearls from the shoot

The scenes with the dead/alive Cloud were filmed in a real morgue, but not in the underground rooms where the autopsy is done, but on the upper floors. The water in the Vltava was about nine degrees at the time of filming, so the scene where Jana jumps from the boat was filmed by a professional swimmer instead of the actress.

Otherwise, if the actors had to go into the water, the crew heated it for them. The filming was affected by the unexpected death of actor Jan Libíček, he passed away right on the set, he was only 42 years old. The role was inherited by Zdeněk Řehoř.

Film locations – where are they located?

• The house of the Vodnice family is located in Kampa. However, the underwater scenes in the basement were shot in the pool, built in the studio on Barrandová.
• Jana is with her friends at the swimming pool in Prague’s Podolí.
• Flour with ears is lying on the pavement of Hroznová Street in Malá Strana.
