“Sent from iPhone” as an excuse for grammatical errors. And it doesn’t matter if you send the mail from an iPhone or Android – MobilMania.cz

--

The phrase “Sent from iPhone” has caused many celebrities to frown in the past. All it took was a little information on their new post on Twitter (now the social network X), and they were for laughs. They often promoted Huawei or Samsung phones, but sent their promotional post from an iPhone. It happened to actress Gal Gadot but also to Google. Information about the phone from which the message was sent disappeared from the X social network in 2022. However, the “Sent from iPhone” label is experiencing a new wave of interest, especially when replying to work emails from a smartphone.

Automatic signature when writing e-mails in smartphones will help you “save your skin”. Especially if auto-correction and voice input didn’t help you much while typing, but rather harmed you

Smartphones are at hand almost all the time, but work emails often require an immediate response, no matter what you’re doing in the real world. Family, kids, travel, and whatever else means you need to respond to email quickly and to the point. Whether it’s a botched voice dictation or autocorrect while typing on a QWERTZ keyboard, it often happens that you send absolute nonsense in a quick reply that you don’t have time to check. And it is he who can partially iron out the information “Sent from Iphone”. The iPhone email client can fill it in automatically, but for many users, it’s the first thing they delete when writing a new message. Even though it actually benefits the cause.

Set up Mobile Signature in Gmail

A study on this topic previously confirmed that people who read an email with lots of grammatical errors see at the end of the “Sent from Iphone”, are more lenient in evaluating the grammar and overall tone of the email. In other words, with this signature, you mitigate the possible “scope of damage” in advance. However, if this information were not there, the other party reasonably assumes that this email left the computer. And according to a number of users, there is “no excuse” for an e-mail written in this way from a computer.

On Android, you can set the signature directly for the given account in the Gmail application. What you put in it is really up to you…

For iPhones, you will receive the signature settings via Settings – Mail – Signature. You can set it for all accounts in use, or selectively only for selected email accounts. On Android, you can change your signature in the Gmail application via the button in the upper left corner. Choose an offer Settings, to find the account you want to set up a signature for. Then look for the function in the list Mobile signature.

We’ll leave it up to you what you enter here. However, no one prevents you from using a signature even on Android “Sent from Iphone”. And if you don’t want to use signatures, according to experts, it is important to emphasize at least in the e-mail itself that you are writing on a mobile phone. This will make it easier for you to have any misunderstandings later…
