The first semi-final took place on Tuesday and ten countries advanced from it. The same number of advancers will emerge from today’s race. The top twenty will then be completed by Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, France, Italy and Spain, who have secured a place in Saturday’s final.

In the first evening, for example, Croatian singer Baby Lasagna, Irish singer Bambie Thug or the Finnish project Windows95man, balancing on the edge of total bad taste and self-parody, made their way to the final race. Ukraine, Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Lithuania, Cyprus and Luxembourg will also participate.

The performance of the Israeli singer Eden Golan, whose participation in the competition is causing controversy and protests due to the war waged by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip in response to the terrorist attack of the Hamas movement last October, will be closely watched in the second semi-final evening.

The Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö is being monitored by police officers from all over Sweden, and security forces from Denmark and Norway have also arrived. According to Reuters reports, anti-Israel protests were also called for Thursday and Saturday. Swedish police expect tens of thousands of people to attend.
