Harry did not meet his father in London. Two miles was an insurmountable distance

Those expecting Prince Harry to finally meet his father, King Charles III, must have been disappointed. Harry came to London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games and visited St Paul’s Cathedral. His father was holding garden parties at Buckingham Palace at the same time.

Prince Harry last saw his father in February when he flew in from the US after the king was diagnosed with cancer. The thirty-nine-year-old Duke has now not even met his brother William, who is two years older.

According to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, the reunion of the two gentlemen should take place in private. “It is a very difficult situation at the moment and it is completely unprecedented. People probably thought that Harry and the King should make time to meet. I think what is developing here is something that was not expected, but it has its own logic. The only way to heal the rift is in private,” he explains, according to the Mirror.

It should be noted that Harry was not joined by any other members of the royal family at his Invictus Games event, which is organized in support of wounded and sick soldiers. The Duke was therefore certainly pleased to have his mother Diana’s brother Charles Spencer and her sister Lady Jane Fellows in attendance. In addition to them, Harry was greeted in front of the cathedral by hundreds of his supporters.
