From Saturday, May 27, in connection with the extension of the tram line from Modřany to Libuš, there will be several changes in traffic within the South City. For example, the new line 126 will offer the residents of Jižní Město frequent connections with Křeslice and the station in Uhříněvs from the last Saturday in May. It will replace, for example, part of the saved line 213, only in the section Horčičkova – Křeslice – Nové Pitkovice – Nádraží Uhříněves. Lines 139 and 154 will replace the definitively canceled line 165. Passengers will continue to reach Smíchovské nádraží by buses number 125 and 197, but the second final stop of line 197 will move from Háje metro station to Roztyly station.
“Line 213 managed to be saved in an almost unchanged form due to the pressure of the town hall. He has been driving through Jižní Město for an incredible 46 years. In the original proposal, it was to be replaced by the locally unknown line 126, when, in addition, line 213 would still go through Praha 11, but it would have a fundamentally changed route. It would no longer go to Vršovice, but would end in Kunratice. That would really confuse the residents and wreak havoc on transportation,” described the transport councilor of the Prague 11 district Libor Vrkoč. The Prague 11 district was represented at the meeting on changes in transport by mayor Šárka Zdeňková (HPP 11), councilor for transport Libor Vrkoč (HPP 11) and chairman of the Transport Committee Ondřej Svoboda (PRAHA 11 SOBĚ).
The aim of the changes is to strengthen the operation of bus lines in the area of Jižní Město II, namely in the sections Roztyly – Dědinova – Chodov and Chodov – Jarníkova – Koleje Jižní Město. Furthermore, the regularity of bus traffic between Mírového hnutí Street – mainly from the Benkova and Brodský stops – and the Chodov metro will be improved.
