New spaces for teaching clothing design will be created at the UMPRUMka in Hradishu

“In the west wing of the building, three studios, one workshop, storage facilities, a corridor and a foyer with a connection to a new all-glass elevator, which will ensure barrier-free access to the building, are newly designed. In the new premises, subjects focusing on both the technology and construction of clothes, as well as their artistic preparation, designing and modeling, will be taught,” informed the Zlín Region Councilor for Education Zuzana Fišerová.

“Construction work on the school should start in the middle of this year and it will be finished during the next year. In total, they will come to almost 33 million crowns, of which 29 million will be covered by subsidies that we managed to obtain from the Integrated Regional Operational Program and the state budget,” added Zbyněk Fojtíček, councilor of the Zlín Region for investments.

New workshop equipment for the Brod industrial plant

The Secondary School of Industry and Business Academy Uherský Brod also faces a major investment, which is still awaiting the modernization of professional workplaces and classrooms of the Hi-tech Center this year. In particular, the machine park in the school workshops will be renewed. Thanks to this, the workshops and classrooms, which serve as centers for professional training in the engineering, automotive and electrical fields, will be equipped with technology that is based on current trends in the field of working with the latest technologies. The total expected costs will exceed 25 million crowns, of which almost 23 million crowns will be covered by subsidies from the Integrated Regional Operational Program and the state budget.

Investments will also be made elsewhere

Councilors also approved other investments in schools established in the region. The Zlín Secondary Industrial School will purchase interactive sets with LCD panels for teaching, while the Valašské Klobouky Gymnasium will equip the physics classroom and new changing rooms. Pupils of the Secondary Technical School of Construction in Valašské Meziříčí can also look forward to new wardrobes. Social facilities on all floors of the building will be repaired by the Masaryk Gymnasium, the Secondary Medical School and the Vsetín Medical College. At the Zlín Gymnasium – Lesní čtvrť, workers will repair the cladding on the school’s pavilions and the roof covering on the sixth pavilion. The Valašské Meziříčí Elementary School, Kindergarten and Practical School will build a vertical lifting platform to ensure barrier-free access to the first floor of the building. The Academy of Business, Higher Vocational School and Language School in Uherské Hradiště plans to rehabilitate the damp masonry of the old school building, and the Secondary School of Gastronomy and Commerce in Zlín plans to revitalize the roof sheathing.
