People will now be able to get through the busy Chlumecká Street.

On Tuesday, the second part of the bridge for pedestrians and cyclists, which connects the new Praha-Rajská zahrada train stop with the metro station of the same name, was opened. The first part of the footbridge has been in operation since last December, and now people can also cross the busy Chlumecká Street.

“By opening the second part of the footbridge, we symbolically completed the overall modernization of the section between Mstětice and Vysočany in Prague,” said Director General of the Railway Administration Jiří Svoboda.

It will also be easier for residents of the local part of Hutě, who until now had to go to the metro by bus, to get to the metro. As with the footbridge over the tracks, pedestrian navigation in the new form of the Readable Praha system is also installed here.

Between the two parts of the footbridge, each of which is located at a different height level, an elevator provides barrier-free access, which also takes people to the level of Chlumecká Street. Other elevators then lead to individual train platforms.

The Rajská zahrada stop was one of the first where ROPID fully implemented the new black navigation system. Elsewhere, testing is underway, when, for example, a part of the station is equipped with elements of the Readable Praha system.

Since December, there is also a new Totem navigation element with a train symbol and Eska, train symbols visible from afar located on the lift shafts of the footbridge. For the first time, prototypes of lighted carriers are also used here for individual direction signs. ROPID plans to test these in minor modifications for interior use also in the Palmovka metro station.

As part of the pilot projects, ROPID is now preparing, in cooperation with the Railway Administration and the Central Bohemian Region, a pilot installation of train navigation and additional information about the Eska and PID lines at the stations in Dolní Počernice and Úvaly.

Trains lines S2, S3, S9, S22 and S34 have been stopping at Rajská žárdena since last December.

The stop makes it possible to speed up journeys to the Černý Most area for passengers from the Central Bohemia region. On the contrary, residents of the local housing estate can reach the center of Prague in the morning rush hour in just 13 minutes.
