The basketball players of BK REDSTONE Olomouc could not extend their season. Even in the last quarter-final match against Nymburk, they showed a sympathetic performance in a reduced lineup, but it was only enough for a 72:107 defeat. They lost the series 0:4 in games and took the final eighth place in the Kooperativa NBL.
In the first three minutes, the visitors shot exclusively from a distance, and after four minutes, Olomouc was losing 5:12 after four conceded three-pointers. The opponents didn’t give anything away, but even so, in the 6th minute they were losing by a double-digit difference for the first time – 10:20. Nymburk gradually increased its lead, reducing it to an acceptable level of 19:31 with a shot at the same time as the McBrayer siren.
In the next part of the opening half, the players of the Polabsk team showed that they wanted to end the series in the shortest possible time and quickly jumped to a difference of seventeen points. The home team managed to rise, reducing the score to 29:42, but then three times in a row they lost the ball and the opportunity to dramatize the duel three times in a row. Fatigue from a demanding season was taking its toll, and the halftime result was 37:54.
After the third quarter, the Hanáci started with the aim of providing a dignified farewell to their own fans, who pleased them with several nice baskets. It didn’t matter too much that their deficit gradually increased and ten minutes before the end it stopped at thirty-four points.
The meeting took place in a relaxed atmosphere and the score fell in the 36th minute after a basket by Novák – 62:100. Almost all the players from both rosters got on the board gradually and in the last minute they finished to the applause of the fans, who said goodbye to Čajkaréna for this season.
